Evan Ware, DVM

Growing up in a Cleveland, Ohio, all of my neighbors knew which door to knock on when an animal issue came up.  Whether it was rounding up animals to bring to the vet, an emergent pet-sitting need and even trapping and releasing the raccoon that made it’s home under the deck - it seemed no job was too big.  As time passed, I realized that a career didn’t have to be a drag if I always did something that I loved.  I have never looked back.

One of the little secrets about our profession is the bond that develops with the pets and the owners.  My career can be a wild ride of experiences and emotions, but at the end of the day, I frequently find myself grinning because our team has helped the lives of our patients.

Two aspects of my profession come to the top of my mind when people ask what I like best about my job - cases that are particularly challenging and require research and learning, and the relationships that I have developed during my years of practicing.

During my spare time I enjoy spending QT with the family, traveling, photography and sports.  Our family has a goal to visit one new national park every year.  Sunday nights at the Ware house mostly involves a mass of people, pets and pizza squished on the couch watching a movie.

I think it is important to have a profession that you love and are passionate about. Being in the veterinary field, came very natural for me. I love animals, period. It doesn’t matter what type. I love the furry and cuddly ones as well as the feathered and scaly ones. I am a Midwestern girl, originally from Indiana, so Arizona was a big culture shock at first. I have been out here for 15years and have been in the Veterinary field ever since.

I received my Certification from the Arizona in 2008. I worked at University Animal Hospital for 10 years and had a million great experiences. However I am truly happy to be able to start at the ground floor here at Laveen Veterinary Center, with Dr. Ware and Dr. Mader.I have an interest in senior and geriatric patients, especially the felines. I enjoy those older and grumpy kitties.

I have 4 kitties of my own: Benny, Bubba, Kinsey and Wyatt. All older and getting grumpier as we speak. I also have a 2 year old Chihuahua named Olive. She is my little partner in whatever we can get into because she is always up for anything. Outside of hanging out with Olive, I really enjoy spending time with friends, going to movies, reading a good book or going to a good wine tasting.

Alexis, Veterinary Nurse

I have lived in beautiful sunny Arizona all my life. As a child I loved watching and learning about animals in books and television shows. Animals have always fascinated and inspired wonder in me. I wanted to know everything I could about all types of animals that I could. I mostly grew up with dogs, but a few years ago I adopted 2 cats and I am glad I did. When I was younger I would help injured birds or find homes for stray dogs. That was a common occurrence for me and something my parents thankfully supported and nourished my love of animals.

Currently I have five animals. I have two adorable cats: Magnus Bane (2 years old) and Pandora (7 years old) and three amazing dogs: Zorro (my old man 11 years old) pug, Korra and Shorty (3 year old sister and brother) yorkie-poodle-schnauzer mixes.

I am currently an undergraduate student at Arizona State University and I plan on becoming a Veterinarian. When I am not working or going to school I love to read, sing and spend time with my family and furry babies. I also love to laugh and there are definitely no dull moments when working with animals and great people.

Working here at Laveen Veterinary Center has reinforced what I always wanted as a child, to help animals in anyway that I can and to do something that I am passionate about.

Kayla, Customer Service Representative

Animals have always been a big part of my life since I was a little girl. Growing up, my mother 's profession was a Veterinary Technician,  so we have always had a big furry family under our roof. Animals have continually provided immeasurable pleasure to my life. Whether it's  putting a big smile on my face, making me laugh, or simply having a special connection with them and knowing they feel the same way.

My children include  two precious Dachshunds: Frankie and Luna, who are the loves of my life!   I also have 4 naughty cats: Kittens, Ducky, Lucy , and Mama. In my down time I enjoy seeing movies, spending time with my fur babies at home, or catching up with friends and family. I feel very blessed to be working here with our wonderful Veterinarians and a staff that share the same passions to contribute to their well-being like I do.

Tatiana, Veterinary technician

I was born and raised in Arizona. I graduated from Thunderbird High School and attended Apollo College to pursue my dream of working with animals and become a Veterinary Technician.  I absolutely love my career and have been in this field for almost 10 years and counting. I feel so blessed to be able to work in such a great environment with fantastic people, getting the opportunity to meet all the wonderful clients, truly makes every day great.  My world revolves around my handsome fiancé Joe and our two awesome kids Nathaniel and Isabella. Our fur babies consist of my most precious pit bull “Capone” and his little girlfriend “BB”, who came to me after a Good Samaritan, brought her into the clinic after she was hit by a car. As it turns out, she is the perfect addition to our family. Her and Capone are inseparable and love each other very much.  I appreciate you taking the time to read a little about me and I look forward to meeting all of you and your precious animals.
