Annual and preventative care examination

Preventative annual exams are essential to provide the best medicine for you pet.  These thorough physical examinations help your pet live longer and healthier lives, may uncover disease earlier through screening tests leading to improved treatment prognosis and enhanced quality of life.

Senior care and geriatric medicine

As the quality of veterinary medicine improves, our pets are living longer and happier lives!  As a results, our pets may exhibit similar age related changes that people experience.  These conditions can be addressed during our 6 month senior examinations as our pets “get over the hill.”

Pet education

Veterinarians love pets, and we love talking pets!  Stay tuned to our website for information on our round table discussions.  If you have interest on a specific topic we encourage you to explore our topics page (and if you can’t find information, please contact us and we would be happy to provide as much information as you desire!)

Laboratory testing and diagnostics

Laveen Veterinary Center has the ability to perform comprehensive laboratory testing.  Results will be discussed with owners to help screen, monitor and diagnose disease.

Digital radiology (X-ray)

Our state of the art digital X ray and digital dental x ray have high resolution to enhance our diagnostic capabilities.  These X rays are reviewed by our veterinarians, and can be easily sent for review to a board certified veterinary radiologist if necessary.

The close relationship with our linked hospitals allows us access to state of the art diagnostics.  We utilize the ultrasound services at University Animal Hospital in Tempe, AZ.  The ultrasound is used to enhance our internal imaging ability.  The use of ultrasound technology helps visualize internal structures in real time - this ability greatly improves diagnostic capabilities.

Dentistry and oral surgery

Have Max’s kisses been less cute and more stinky??  Oral health in our pets is something we take very seriously at Laveen Veterinary Center.  Thorough examination of the mouth is essential during preventative examinations to determine if a trip to the dentist is necessary and to discuss how to help prevent periodontal disease.  Routine preventative dental scalings an important part of your pets general health and oral hygiene.  If tooth extraction is necessary, our veterinarians are skilled in oral surgery including complex tooth extraction and flap procedures to prevent open sockets.

Internal medicine

The veterinarians at Laveen Veterinary Center are experienced in diagnosis and treatment of common and uncommon disease in our pets.  Metabolic, endocrine and infectious disease beware, the vets at LVC are here!

Advances in veterinary medicine have made treatment of many types of cancer not only possible, but very realistic.  Our number one goal in cancer treatment with chemotherapy is to maintain the best possible quality of life for your pet.  Dr. Evan Ware has adopted a special interest in chemotherapy through his own personal experiences coupled with years of practice treating cancer patients and continuing education in the field of veterinary oncology.

General and advanced soft tissue surgery

The surgical suite at Laveen Veterinary Center provides an environment for our experienced doctors to perform not only routine procedures, but advanced abdominal and soft tissue surgical procedures.  We provide comprehensive anesthesia monitoring to ensuring the highest safety for our patients.  Following surgery, we focus on appropriate pain management and post operative care to facilitate the quickest recoveries for our surgical patients.

Orthopedic surgery

The veterinarians at Laveen Veterinary Center know which “bones to pick.”  Dr. Evan Ware has developed a special interest in veterinary orthopedics and is experienced in treating patients’ orthopedic problems surgically and medically.  His experiences covers a wide spectrum of orthopedic problems from degenerative joint disease (arthritis) to complicated fracture repair and Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy (TPLO) for craniate cruciate ligament injury (torn ACL in people).

Pain management

Assessing pain levels in our animal patients can be very challenging since our pets can’t tell us what hurts. The comfort of our patients is extremely important to us at Laveen Veterinary Center.  Identifying subtle cues, searching for the primary source of pain and developing an appropriate pain management plan is one of our passions.
